This way you can, for example, easily access the folder with your favorite videos and play your favorite song directly from the desktop.

On Windows Vista the gadget will be located within the desktop sidebar and on Windows 7 the gadget can be placed on the desktop freely.

The Standalone Gadget is, similar to the Sidebar Gadget, a mini application that runs on your desktop. This type of gadget has primarily been developed for Windows XP, so that you have the option to use gadget features that could otherwise only be used on Windows Vista or Windows 7. The Standalone Menu is an executable menu which is run in an own window. This menu can be linked to the Windows autostart function so that it will be launched automatically at every Windows startup.
